About ACH

How the ACH Network Moves Money

The Automated Clearing House is the electronic network that moves funds between bank accounts in the United States. It supports direct deposit, online bill pay, recurring payments, and other bank-to-bank transactions under rules established by NACHA.

Each payment moves from the originating financial institution, or ODFI, to the customer bank, known as the RDFI. ACH payments are processed in batches rather than authorized individually like card transactions, and a standard payment settles in one to three business days.

Each ACH payment is assigned a Standard Entry Class (SEC) code based on how it was authorized. WEB applies to online payments, TEL to telephone payments, PPD to recurring consumer payments, and CCD to business-to-business transactions.

ACH processing is often priced per transaction rather than as a percentage of the payment amount, which suits larger invoices and recurring collections. Payments can also be screened before submission through CheXshield check verification. Businesses that have lost card acceptance or operate in restricted industries may be better suited to eCheck processing for high-risk businesses.

Operational excellence

Built for High-Volume Collections

At scale, the real cost of ACH processing often comes from the work around each payment: rekeying bank details, following up on failed transactions, and reconciling settlements manually. Our tools help reduce that operational work.

Sales Benefit

Catch account issues before submission, keep billing cycles moving without rekeying, and reconcile settlements directly against your ledger.

ACH Acceptance

Collect from checking and savings accounts online, by phone, or through an API.

Recurring Schedules

Set up PPD debits for subscriptions, memberships, installment plans, and other recurring payments.

Batch and Back Office

Submit an entire billing cycle in one file instead of entering transactions individually.

Return Visibility

See return codes, including R01 for insufficient funds and R02 for closed accounts, as they post.

Reconciliation

Match settlements directly to your ledger without rebuilding records from a bank statement.

Onboarding

From Application to First Batch

1
